“Mum’s know best”

Nationwide Building Society’s appointment of Kevin Smith as Branch Manager for its Shanklin Branch on the Isle of Wight goes to show again that “Mum’s know best”!

FS Career Prospects Senior Partner’ Mike Sedgwick picked up the story: “I initially spoke to Andrea, Kevin’s Mum on the role as she works as a Branch Manager with another financial services company on the island. Did she know someone who might be interested? – Yes, her son!”

A couple of days later Mike called and quickly realised he was talking to a fantastic candidate, bursting with energy and someone Nationwide Building Society would in turn be interested in.

A former Retail Manager at Woolworths and Gamestation Kevin was recruited by FS Career Prospects as part of its ongoing relationship with Nationwide Building Society.

Catherine Elrick, District Sales Manager, commented: “Our Shanklin Branch had been without a Manager for some time and I was very keen that we find the right person as quickly as possible to lead the team.”
